Enhanced Acute Response Team

The enhanced ART has been working since 2017. It brings primary care skills to the front of the Accident an Emergency Department (A&E and ED), using the primary care clinicians to their best of abilities, assessing the patients needs and initiating the appropriate treatment within minutes, using scheduled appointment system which can be used by the primary care and ED alike, also with the intention to relieve the ED from the patients who do not need emergency (rapid life saving) care.

This team works also closely with the complex ART - should they be required, and have also access to the hospital clinicians.

All encounters are directly recorded into the GP's patient data systems enabling real time updating of the primary care patient records.

It is part of the delivery of the 8 to 8 primary care access at the weekends.
